How do I get started with a new sail or repair?

You can call, email, or stop by the loft in Noank. We’ll ask a few questions about your boat and goals, and set up a time to inspect your current sails or measure for new ones. Browse the Ullman Sails Northeast FAQ Section for more info.

Do I need an appointment?

Not always — but since this is a one-man loft, it’s best to reach out ahead of time to confirm availability. Wednesday and Saturday visits are by appointment only.

What’s the typical lead time for a new sail?

Custom sails usually take 4–8 weeks, depending on the season and the sail type. Plan ahead — spring and fall are our busiest times.

How long do repairs take?

Small repairs can often be completed in a few days. Larger jobs or recuts may take 1–2 weeks. We’ll give you an estimate when we see the sail.

Do you offer pickup and delivery for sails?

Yes!

Do you make custom sails?

Absolutely. All sails are custom-designed to match your boat and your goals. We’ll help guide you through cloth selection, layout, and features.

Do I need to haul the boat for you to measure?

Nope. We can usually measure with the boat in the water. We can also measure from existing sails if needed.

Cruising, racing, offshore, one-design, and more. We also offer evaluations, sail handling consulting, and repairs — all backed by the global Ullman network.
