Sail Care & Tips10 Troubleshooting Tips for In-Mast Furling Systems 

  1. Always head upwind before furling or deploying the sail. 
  2. Keep light tension on the outhaul while furling to avoid wrinkles. 
  3. Ease the mainsheet fully to take pressure off the sail. 
  4. Never force a jam – back off and reverse if needed. 
  5. Clean and lubricate mast hardware annually. 
  6. Replace furling and outhaul lines that are worn or glazed. 
  7. Avoid furling when the sail is flogging or under load. 
  8. Inspect the sail for stretch or a baggy luff every season. 
  9. Consider removing vertical battens if they cause jamming. 
  10. Mark the full-furl position on your outhaul for reference.
